PueoGrams: Home

A pen pal program for the UH West O'ahu Community.

What is PueoGrams?

This is a letter exchange program for students, faculty, and staff at UH West Oʻahu. The upcoming holiday season, paired with finals, can be a stressful time. This is a way to nurture connections amongst members of our community.

How do I sign up?

We are accepting sign-ups between Thursday, November 19 and Thursday, November 26. We will then send out match pairings on Friday, November 27. Matches are random.

What will I be committing to?

By registering, you are committing to mailing at least one letter to your match before the end of 2020. You are welcome to continue communicating with one another beyond that commitment.

Is there a fee to participate?

No. This is a free program.

What if I don't have stamps or cards to use?

We've got your back! You can pick up a card and stamp from the Library's Circulation Desk starting on Monday, November 30. If you are off-island, contact uhwolib@hawaii.edu so we can mail you a set of supplies.

What should I write about?

This is entirely up to you and what you are comfortable with! Start by introducing yourself. When matched, we will send you some general interests your match indicated. You can use those as conversation starters, or talk about your plans for the holidays, or how the academic semester went for you. Need more ideas? See our "Writing Prompts."
