-The major systems in Buddhism are:

  • Theravada
  • Mahayana
  • Vajrayana (Tantric or Esoteric)

-The four noble truths:

  1. dukkha: the truth of misery
  2. samudaya: the truth that misery originates within the craving for pleasure and for being or nonbeing
  3. nirodhu: the truth that this craving can be eliminated
  4. magga: the truth that this elimination is the result of following a methodical way or path
