2014 Hawaiʻi-Pacific Displays: January - Tattoos

The UHWO Library has a number of books about tattooing in Hawaiʻi and the Pacific, however; it might take some clever thinking to find them because many of them are not specifically cataloged as books about tattoos. Some art books may have information about tattoos or try a combination of "tattooing" with specific locations to find sources.

Here are some sample subject searches you might try:

• Tattooing--Hawaii.
• Tattooing--Polynesia.
• Tattooing--Marshall Islands.
• Tattooing--New Zealand.

Remember, if you find a book in Voyager that is not available at the UHWO Library, you can request it via our Intra-system Loan program. Please keep in mind that books take about 7-10 business days to arrive here and all Hawai'i-Pacific requests for the Mānoa campus are reviewed on an individual basis.
