Aloha United Way (AUW) is actively working to protect the health, safety, and well-being of our communities as Hawai‘i confronts the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The following programs have been launched as part of this ongoing effort.

HHL’s COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program will provide eligible beneficiaries with rental assistance using $7 million in Native Hawaiian Housing Block Grant (NHHBG) funds. Call 211 for more information.

The Office of Hawaiian Affairs is implementing an emergency financial assistance program for Native Hawaiians. Funds can be used for rent, utilities, mortgages, and rent deposits.

The purpose of the Urgent Student Relief Fund is to assist University of Hawaiʻi students with unexpected financial hardships incurred while enrolled at any UH campus to ensure students are afforded the ability to continue their education. Apply at the link.

If you work in essential services and your regular childcare options are unavailable to you, you are eligible to enroll your child on a space available basis in the Kamaʻāina Kids location and program that is most convenient for you.
