About this Guide

This guide is designed to help University of Hawaiʻi - West Oʻahu students studying general Public Administration find relevant library resources.

Note that the resources featured on this guide include: books, e-books, databases, scholarly journals, and vetted Internet resources. Many of these resources are RESTRICTED by license for UHWO students, faculty and staff only. If you are affiliated with UHWO, you can access restricted resources from your home or the library using your UH login and password.

This guide is not comprehensive and resources are continually being added to better support your learning, teaching and research.

Starting Your Research

Reference resources, like encyclopedias and dictionaries, are a great place to start your research because their articles provide a broad overview of your topic. From these resources, you can extract keywords for further searching.

Balanced, in-depth, analytical reports on current and controversial issues. Each report examines a single topic of public concern, giving a broad overview of the subject, historical background, and a discussion of the current controversies and initiatives.
